Brazilian-based vintage rockers REPUBLIQUE DU SALEM are currently in pre-production for their new album. The band earned two early Latin Grammy pre-nominations (Best Brazilian Rock Album and Best New Artist categories), in response to their acclaimed debut “O Fim da Linha Não É o Bastante” ("The End of the Line Is not Enough"), released in 2013.
The upcoming self-titled studio album will be produced by Marc Ford (solo artist, Ex-Black Crowes, Ben Harper); tracking is scheduled to take place in Long Beach CA during October / November 2014. “Republique du Salem” marks the band’s first 100% english language album.
Rod Lopez (guitarist) says: "Marc (and some of the acts he has played/recorded with) has always been a great inspiration for Republique’s trademark sounding; about a year ago I had the chance to drop him a line about how much we were influenced by his music and life experiences. At the time, we had already a couple of songs we were working on, so we thought about having him on board as for a guest collaboration; he was kind enough to consider doing it, we managed to align schedules, and after getting to know a little more about our work, it ended up that he was willing to oduce the album."
Ford comments: "I am very much looking forward to working with REPUBLIQUE, they are a talented group and believe what they do, I'm sure we gonna do a great album together."
The band promises to unveil additional details about the album, during the coming months."
